This festive season, Cavendish Square transformed a simple, seasonal tradition into something deeply meaningful, resulting in a donation of R25,135 to the Amy Foundation, raised through the centre’s gift-wrapping station.
The donation formed part of the mall's 'A Festive Affair' campaign and was made possible by shoppers who chose to give while ticking gifts off their holiday lists, says the mall.
Throughout the holiday period, Cavendish Square's gift-wrapping station became a quiet space of generosity. Shoppers paused between errands, gifts in hand, and contributed with the knowledge that their support would reach young people who need guidance, skills and safe places to learn. The funds raised will directly support the Amy Foundation's youth development programmes, sustaining sustain work that will continue long after the decorations are packed away, adds the mall.
"We are honoured to hand over this cheque to the Amy Foundation," says Faizah Behardien, Centre Manager at Cavendish Square. "We deeply admire the work you do to empower young people, and we hope this contribution helps you continue changing lives. Thank you for the incredible impact that you make."
Supporting Work That Matters
The Amy Foundation welcomed the donation, emphasising the real difference it will make within its after-school programmes. Known for its hands-on, community-rooted approach, the organisation supports children and youth through mentorship, skills development and safe learning environments, says the mall.
"We are incredibly grateful to Cavendish Square for selecting the Amy Foundation as the beneficiary of their Festive Gift-Wrapping Station as part of the 'A Festive Affair' campaign," says Moegamat Ali Petersen, Representative of The Amy Foundation. "Funds raised through this initiative directly support our programmes for children and youth, enabling us to provide skills development, mentorship, and safe learning spaces in our after-school programmes. This contribution helps us continue creating meaningful opportunities and lasting change."
For Cavendish Square, the donation reflects an ongoing focus on community collaboration that feel personal, practical and rooted in care, concludes the mall.
